Menopause through the lens of Ayurveda

Ayurveda terms aging as Vradhhavastha — signified by Kshaya, or decay. Its objective is to accomplish physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being by adopting preventive, promotive and healing approaches. Ayurveda considers aging Nishpratikriya — changes that cannot be resisted — and in women, menopause is seen as Yapya Vyadhi, meaning palliative, acknowledging the delicate nature of the transition.

In ancient times, women who lived an Ayurvedic way of life entered old age as kalaja vridhhavastha (timely aging) and Rajonivritti (menopause) occurring around age 50 passed uneventfully. Vandana's approach draws on these same classical principles — understanding menopausal challenges through the lens of Dosha imbalance and offering individually tailored protocols to restore harmony.

To relieve women suffering from menopausal problems means to relieve the discomfort and disorder due to hormonal changes, and at the same time to ward off degenerative processes of old age — mitigating their effects and slowing their advance.
