From Banaras with love
Varanasi — the old name Banaras — is one of the oldest living cities in the world, considered the seat of spiritual wealth and wisdom. Growing up there in a traditional joint family, surrounded by home-cooked food, temples, the holy River Ganges, and Vaidya ji (Raj Vaidya Pandit Shiv Kumar Shastri Ji), has been part of Vandana's life from the very beginning.
From an early age she was exposed to Veda, Shad Darshan, Astrology, Ayurveda, and spiritual discourses alongside science, medicine and philosophy. She was always fascinated by the power of tiny round Vati (tablets) and herbal powders Churna that were given when someone fell sick — and by the Vaidya ji who prescribed them.
"Raja Vaidya Pt. Shiv Kumar Shastri ji was not just a family friend and family Vaidya — he has always been my confidante, loving teacher and guide. I bow to the holy feet of my Guru and seek his blessings."
Classical training at BHU
