Ancient science · Modern life
Ayurveda — the "Science of Life" — is the world's oldest living system of natural medicine, originating in ancient India over 5,000 years ago.
The word Ayurveda comes from two Sanskrit roots: Ayus (life) and Veda (knowledge or science). It is a complete system of medicine that addresses the physical, mental, social and spiritual dimensions of health — not just the absence of disease, but the active cultivation of vitality and joy.
"Ayurveda is not merely a system of medicine. It is a complete way of life — a guide to living in harmony with nature, with others, and with yourself."— Classical Ayurvedic teaching
The three doshas
Ayurveda recognizes that every individual is unique. Your Prakriti — or innate constitution — is determined at birth by the balance of three bio-energies called Doshas.
Vata governs all movement in the body — breathing, circulation, nerve impulses, and the movement of thoughts. When balanced, Vata brings creativity, lightness, and enthusiasm.
Pitta governs transformation — digestion, metabolism, body temperature, and the processing of emotions and perceptions. When balanced, Pitta brings intelligence, courage, and focus.
Kapha governs structure and lubrication — it holds the body together, nurtures tissues, and stabilizes the mind. When balanced, Kapha brings calm, strength, and deep compassion.
Daily practice
One of Ayurveda's most powerful tools is Dincharya — a set of daily self-care practices aligned with nature's rhythms. These simple routines, practiced consistently, create profound health and wellbeing over time.
From rising with the sun to specific practices for oral hygiene, self-massage, movement, and mindful eating — Dincharya is the foundation of Ayurvedic living. Vandana guides each client in building a personalized daily routine suited to their constitution and lifestyle.

Ayurveda works through multiple interconnected pathways to restore and maintain health.
Food is medicine in Ayurveda. Your ideal diet is based on your Prakriti, the season, and your current state of health. No two people eat the same way.
Daily and seasonal routines (Dincharya and Ritucharya) align you with natural rhythms and prevent imbalance before it becomes disease.
Classical Ayurvedic herbs and formulations support the body's natural healing processes — chosen carefully for your individual constitution and condition.
Mental and emotional wellbeing — through meditation, Yoga, breathwork, and Sattvik living — is inseparable from physical health in Ayurveda.
